May 30th, 2008..., a date which will live in infamy... OK, so that's a little too dramatic, but Allen did finally graduate from high school. It was everything you'd expect at a high school graduation: speeches by students who inspired the new graduates to conquer the world, a weepy principal saying they were the best class ever, and 90 minutes of names read at a snail's pace, students pulling poses while their names are read, lots of leis, obnoxious parents and friends screaming when a loved one's name is called, people blocking your view, and pictures afterwards.
We had a family dinner at home and I cooked a delicious
asado, Jen and her mom some salads, a neighbor made a fruit pizza, Angenette brought some artisan bread for mate afterwards. It was what you'd expect a graduation day to be.
